GORDON HEAD TROPHY

Imaginative Projected images - No Longer Contested
Local builder Gordon Head became a member when the society was in it infancy. He was a member of Hailsham Methodist church and played the organ there. Gordon loved the Lake District and was known for his landscape photography. He was also a great innovator and made the illuminated print display board with the suction seal which was used at the club until 2014. Of course his innovation seeped into his photography and he used silver foil and other everyday items to produce reflections and distorted images. Bearing this in mind it is no surprise to find that he presented the Society with a trophy to be awarded for the most imaginative slide.
With the advent of digital images it was, for a few years, awarded for the most imaginative slide or digital image. However, in 2009 it was decided to have separate trophies for slides and digital images so it reverted back to slide only and the New Cup was given for the most imaginative digital image
