RULES
1. Affiliation
You are eligible to enter this competition if your club/society is a member of the Kent County Photographic Alliance (KCPA).
However all are welcome to come to see the Competition.
2. Eligibility/Authorship
a) The main photography and sequence production must be the work of the entrant, and any help must be declared.
b) An entrants name may ONLY be credited to TWO sequences as author or co-author.
c) Sequences entered at a previous KCPA Competition will not be eligible.
d) If the running time exceeds the available time of the competition, the number of entries will be reduced.
e) You should indicate on the entry form 1st and 2nd preferences of your entries. Your 2nd choice may be removed, if this is the case, and your entry fee refunded.
3. Copyright
a) The use of third party images, animated graphics, video clips or other visual material, whilst not excluded, should be limited and appropriate to the production.
b) It is the responsibility of the ENTRANT to obtain copyright clearance and hold the appropriate copyright licence.
c) In accordance with established copyright regulations, sequences presented at the Competition should be free of all rights of ownership, artistic or otherwise, which others may hold. By participating in the Competition authors of audio visual sequences indemnify the organisers against all and any action which may be taken against them by owners of copyrights. The organisers will accept no responsibility in the case of dispute of litigation. All care will be taken in the handling of sequences, but the organisers cannot accept any responsibility for loss, theft or damage.
4. The Sequences
a) The Competition is for Digital Sequences only and entries will be accepted on a CD or Electronically by means of Wetransfer
b) The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to Sequences that they consider, in their absolute discretion, to be undesirable or unsuitable for a general audience.
c) Each sequence should be on separated disc and each disc clearly labelled with Name with Title of Sequence and Producers name.
d) The resolution should be up to 1400 x 1050. Sequences with a different Aspect Ratio will have a black border.
e) The sequence must run with no additional software requirements, play with a double-click and return to the window from which it was opened.
f) All sequences will be copied to the hard drive for projection so DO NOT put a time limit or copy control on the sequence – it will be deleted once the competition is over and (if submitted by CD this will be returned to you on the day or destroyed).
g) Your name or Logo should NOT appear on the sequence and the sequence will not be accepted if this occurs.
h) The sequence should NOT be longer than 10 minutes in length
i) The sequence will be played through VideoLan, VLC Media Player and we can accept the following formats.
.exe, .avi, .mov and .m4v.
5. Entry Fees
a) An entry fee of £10 for the first sequence will include admission. The second sequence, if submitted, will be a further £5.
b) Each sequence submitted requires an entry form and entry fee.
c) Each Visitor/Observer will pay £10 Entry Fee.
d) Please make cheques payable to Hailsham Photographic Society or pay online.

6. Judge
The judge is Keith Leedham FRPS EFIAP FIPF appointed by the organisers. Keith will decide the winners of the various awards. The decision of the judge will be final and binding.
7. Closing Date
Entry forms and payment must reach Jean Mills, Dunairn Westaway Drive, Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex TN39 3QF by Saturday 15th October 2016 at the latest. The payment must also be received by this date.
