THE PRESIDENTS CUP
Prints (Beginner Trade Processed) - No Longer Contested The Presidents cup is not awarded at present. It was originally presented to help beginners get started. This was in the ‘good old days’ when monochrome was king and not only did you have to take image you had to develop and print in the darkroom as well. (Some people still practice this ancient art!) To win this cup you only had to take the photo you could then take the film and get it processed. It may be that David Rothwell presented the cup to the society as he was president in 1987/89 and note a Rothwell name on it in 1988/89, the first year it appeared! |
